In 1931, it was amalgamated with the Udhampur district and in 1948, Doda became a separate district. • It shares its borders with the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir in the South, Udhampur and Rampur districts in the West, Himachal Pradesh in the East and Kishtwar and Anantnag districts in the North. • It is the largest district of the Jammu region.
